We witness our Boy Youth 4 X 400 meter relay team bring home the gold medal. They ran a blistering 4 X 400 in time of 3.55 minutes. Also, competing at the event were Kendra Todd in the Fastest Girl in New York 7 - 8 years old race. Plus we had Julian Coley and Kendall Todd in the Fastest 7 - 8 years old Boy in New York race. Julian medalled with a second place finish and Kendra medalled with a third place finish. Kendall place fifth in his first time competing in this prestigious race. Beside witnessing our children compete, we were able to witness a breathtaking photo finish victory by Jamaica’s Steve Mullings over American Tyson Gay in the 100 meters race. Plus, Lukas Verzbicas, of Orland Park, Ill., became only the fifth athlete in U.S. high school history to run a sub-4 minute mile when he won the Adidas Boys’ Dream Mile in 3:59.71. Some teams never earned a National Medal from Junior Olympics, well, Zodiacs were blessed with 2 National Medals. During the week of July 30th through August 6th. Zodiacs competed in the 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships in Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans, LA. During to long week of competition in the 100+ degrees temperature, against the best athletes in the country, our athletes performed well. Zodiacs's Andrea Amorosa and Aaliyah Wajid earned National medals in their competition. They are certified as being one of the best in their age division, in their event, in the country. Wow, that's a great accomplishment. To work hard at something positive and to become one of the best in the COUNTRY, wow. Coaches, parents, her family and team mates are so proud of Andrea and Aaliyah.
